Your cart emails are in Promotions. Your texts got filtered. Now what?
Email gets ignored. SMS costs a fortune and needs carrier paperwork. iMessage won't let brands blast anyone. WhatsApp works in the US, just not the way most tools pretend. We run the version that delivers.

The channel scorecard nobody wants to show you
Four ways to reach a shopper who left a cart. One of them is actually a conversation.
| SMS | iMessage | |||
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Where it lands | Promotions tab, next to 40 other "you forgot something"s | Between 2FA codes and spam | Only if they messaged you first | The app they already text their friends on |
| Promos allowed? | Yes | Yes, with TCPA consent | No. Apple bans unsolicited marketing | To +1 numbers: paused by Meta. Everything customer-started: yes |
| Paperwork | None | 10DLC brand + campaign registration. Unregistered = blocked | Apple-approved provider only | Meta business verification. We do it |
| Pictures, catalog, pay link | Yes | MMS costs extra | Yes | Yes, all in the chat |
| Can they reply and buy? | They won't | Kind of, clunky | Yes | Yes, that's the whole point |
SMS rule: US carriers block 100% of unregistered 10DLC traffic since February 2025. Apple rule: Messages for Business allows no unsolicited marketing. Checked September 2026.
Meta paused WhatsApp marketing to US numbers.
Since April 1, 2025, marketing templates to +1 numbers fail with error 63049. Meta hasn't said when it comes back. Cart reminders count as marketing.
So if a tool is selling you "WhatsApp abandoned-cart blasts" for US customers, it's selling you messages that bounce. We'd rather tell you now than refund you later.
What actually works in the US right now
Four plays. All of them deliver today. All of them we run for you.
Chat at checkout
A WhatsApp button on product and checkout pages. Our AI answers "does it ship to Texas?" in seconds, so fewer carts get abandoned in the first place.
Click-to-WhatsApp retargeting
Run Meta ads at your cart abandoners. They tap, they message you, and you get a 72-hour window where every message is free, cart nudge included.
Order and shipping updates
Confirmations, tracking, delivery. These are utility messages, they work for +1 numbers, and Meta charges $0.0034 each.
Your customers outside the US
Shipping to the UK, Australia, the Gulf? Meta's pause only hits +1 numbers. Those shoppers can still get your promos, with their consent.
How a cart actually gets saved
No blast. A conversation.
- They hesitateSizing? Shipping? Returns? Classic checkout panic.
- They tap WhatsAppFrom your store, or from an ad showing them the thing they left.
- We answer in secondsThe AI replies with their cart, the answer and a checkout link. A human steps in if it's a big order.
- They buy. You ship. They get tracking.Order confirmed and shipping updates on WhatsApp. Nobody checked their Promotions tab.
Receipts
Our numbers so far come from the UAE, where WhatsApp is how everyone shops. Real sends, nothing made up.
What it costs
Meta charges per message and publishes the price. You pay exactly that. We charge a monthly fee for running it, quoted per store. No lock-in.
Get your number*Free until September 30, 2026. From October 1 Meta charges $0.0034 after your first 1,000 a month per number. Marketing templates to +1 numbers are paused by Meta.
Questions US stores ask us
Can I send abandoned cart reminders on WhatsApp to US customers?
Not as a cold broadcast. Meta has paused marketing templates to +1 numbers since April 1, 2025, and cart reminders count as marketing. What works: a shopper who messages you (from your store's chat button or a click-to-WhatsApp ad) opens a window where you can follow up about their cart for free.
Do Americans actually use WhatsApp?
Over 100 million people in the US use it every month, per Meta in July 2024. It's biggest with international, Latino and big-city shoppers, which is a lot of your customers.
Why not just use SMS?
You can, and plenty of stores should keep it. It just costs per segment, needs 10DLC brand and campaign registration (US carriers block 100% of unregistered traffic since February 2025), and it lands between 2FA codes and spam. WhatsApp adds pictures, catalogs, pay links and real two-way chat.
What about iMessage?
Apple doesn't let brands blast iMessage. Apple Messages for Business bans unsolicited marketing: the customer starts the chat, or opts in through Apple's own invite flow. Great for support, not a campaign channel.
Does it work with Shopify and Klaviyo?
Yes. We wire the chat button into your store, send order and shipping updates from Shopify events, and keep Klaviyo doing what email is good at. You don't rip anything out.
